How have you gotten Mesothelioma Cancer?

There are different forms of mesothelioma. Some are malignant mesothelioma, asbestosis and lung cancer.

Before the mid 1970's, asbestos fibres were used in a whole host of industries. These included insulation, construction, shipyards, vehicle repair and milling plants.

It is also possible to contract malignant mesothelioma through brief exposure to the fibres, although it would be far more common to those who had prolonged exposure.

People with no exposure to asbestos could also contract mesothelioma from family or friends who worked in the industry. This includes contact through clothing and hair.

Smoking is also linked to contracting mesothelioma.
